About SellerFile Studio
SellerFile Studio is an independent set of practical, browser-based file utilities for online sellers. The project is published by Valmont Marketing. Its purpose is to help merchants inspect product spreadsheets, convert a limited set of supplier CSV fields and identify repeated SKUs before moving data into their stores.
What is actually available?
| Live utility | What it does | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier CSV converter | Maps supported columns and prepares a basic product CSV for review. | No store connection, no full multi-image or complex bundle mapping, no guarantee of Shopify acceptance. |
| Product CSV checker | Flags supported structural and product-field issues; makes conservative, reviewable cleanup changes. | Does not validate every Shopify taxonomy field, metafield, image URL response or product reference. |
| Duplicate SKU finder | Finds repeated non-empty values and their source-row references. | Does not automatically deduplicate products or decide whether reuse is an error. |
How we test
The CSV-processing engine has automated tests for parsing, column mapping, format analysis and output. Browser checks exercise sample-file analysis, download generation, the navigation and responsive layouts at multiple widths. Sample data is synthetic. Such testing establishes that defined software behaviors work; it does not prove that a file will be accepted by every Shopify store or that all Shopify field combinations have been reproduced.
The public practice CSV kit and multi-line CSV fixture allow visitors to reproduce supported behavior locally without uploading a real customer's catalog. We do not claim third-party merchant endorsements or hands-on testing of scenarios we haven't performed.
How our guides are researched
- Begin with an identifiable seller problem, not only a keyword variation. Useful examples include malformed quote escaping, wrong product-file type or unsafe variant updates.
- Check the corresponding official Shopify Help Center documentation and identify the assumptions it makes about product or inventory data.
- Provide a concrete demonstration, checklist or reproducible file where feasible. Use invented data and label it accordingly.
- Separate structural problems our tools can identify from checks requiring Shopify admin access, merchant authorization or supplier information.
- Link readers to a working tool only when it can genuinely help with that problem.
- Update, consolidate or retire content when a platform specification changes or a page no longer solves a distinct problem.
Privacy and file handling
The initial CSV tools process chosen file contents locally in JavaScript within your browser. They do not transmit the CSV contents to our servers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits and allowlisted first-party counters for actions such as a successful analysis and an export start. These counters distinguish demo data from user-selected files without including filenames, product rows, SKUs or user identities. Review our privacy policy for details.
Conflicts, corrections and independence
SellerFile Studio is not developed or endorsed by Shopify. Shopify remains the authoritative source for Shopify CSV field definitions, import limits and store-specific behavior. Brand names are used descriptively. A tutorial should never be interpreted as permission to bypass customer data protections or overwrite a catalog without a backup.
If a guide or tool disagrees with your current Shopify interface, use the official instructions, preserve your original data and refrain from destructive changes. We aim to correct verified inaccuracies instead of producing similar pages merely to increase search traffic.
Try the Shopify CSV checker, browse the troubleshooting library, or download a synthetic practice file to see the tool's behavior.
