Convert a supplier spreadsheet into a Shopify product CSV

A supplier may name its columns Product Name, Item SKU, Brand or Photo URL. Shopify's product import format uses different field names. This free converter detects likely matches, lets you review mappings, and generates a CSV you can inspect before importing.

How to use this converter

  1. Export your supplier data as CSV or TSV and keep an untouched backup.
  2. Choose the file above, or click Try a sample file to preview the workflow.
  3. Review the suggested column mappings, titles, handles, SKUs, prices and any warnings.
  4. Download the Shopify-format CSV, check variant grouping and test a small import first.

Example supplier-field mappings

Supplier headerShopify product CSV headerCheck before import
Product NameTitleNon-empty product title
Item SKUSKUCorrect item or variant ID
BrandVendorIntended public brand
PricePriceDecimal retail price, not wholesale cost
Photo URLProduct image URLPublic HTTP(S) link

Can this import products directly into Shopify?

No. The tool prepares a downloadable file. It does not log into Shopify or import anything to a store. You control the final import in Shopify admin. This first release supports up to 10 MB or 25,000 rows and assumes one source row per product or variant. It does not automatically reconstruct complex multi-image, bundle or nested variant records.

What if several rows share the same product handle?

That can represent legitimate variants, but option values must distinguish the intended variants. The converter flags conflicting handle and option combinations for review rather than silently merging rows. Read our variant option troubleshooting guide.

Which source CSV format should I use?

Use an export that includes headers and individual product records. The parser accepts commas, tabs and semicolons. An inventory quantity export is different from a product import; review our product CSV vs inventory CSV comparison before converting.
