Shopify CSV practice files: learn conversions and checks using synthetic data
Not ready to risk your actual catalog? Download small, clearly labeled practice CSV files and run them through our free tools. The sample files contain invented product names and identifiers, no real merchant data, and are suitable for practicing CSV analysis. They are not a replacement for Shopify's official template.
These files are demonstration fixtures, not verified production store exports. The Shopify-style sample demonstrates some common product fields, but it is not a full official template, and we have not tested importing it into a live Shopify store. Always consult the current Shopify product CSV specification before a real import.
1. Supplier catalog example
Shows the columns often seen in supplier lists: Product Name, Item SKU, Brand, Price, Photo URL and Description. It is intended for testing source-to-destination column mapping.

Try it in the supplier CSV converter. Check that the example maps its titles, SKUs and numeric retail prices to Shopify-style output columns. Image URLs are intentionally blank to avoid linking to nonexistent product media.
2. Basic Shopify-format product CSV example
Contains two synthetic simple products and illustrative columns such as Title, URL handle, SKU, Price, Option1 name, and Option1 value. It illustrates minimal product data layout; Shopify has other optional and conditional fields not included here.

Try it in the Shopify product CSV checker. It should help you understand the tool's handling of headers and variant option dependencies without uploading real product files.
3. Duplicate SKU demonstration
Four rows intentionally include two repeated SKU groups: TEE-001 on lines 2 and 3, and TOTE-002 on lines 4 and 5.

Open it in the duplicate SKU finder and check that both duplicates appear in the report. The tool only identifies repeated IDs; it will not delete or merge products.
Common questions
Can I upload these examples to my Shopify store?
Use them as local practice data rather than importing them into a production store. They contain artificial products, not your actual inventory. The official Shopify product CSV example is available from Shopify itself and should be your reference for imports.
Why not test with a customer's existing spreadsheet?
These practice files make the process reproducible without exposing actual seller information. All three SellerFile Studio tools process the selected CSV in your browser and do not upload its contents to our server.
What if I need to update variant options or quantities?
Product data and inventory quantities use separate file formats. Product variant updates can be destructive if dependent Option1 fields are omitted. See product CSV vs inventory CSV and variant CSV warnings before any import.
